NEWH Sustainable Hospitality recognizes the environmental responsibility that is before us – within our industry and globally. To provide hospitality industry professionals with access to and quick reference on environmental efforts, products, services, and initiatives, NEWH now publishes a SUSTAINABLE HOSPITALITY RESOURCE DIRECTORY online. 

The NEWH SUSTAINABLE HOSPITALITY RESOURCE DIRECTORY includes all disciplines involved in hospitality, with three goals:
    -  to promote environmental responsibility and education
    -  to provide aid in the specification process for products and services
    -  to produce a listing that allows for better transparency of practices and identifies companies that benefit
       sustainable hospitality projects

How does NEWH Sustainable Hospitality qualify each listing?

All companies and individuals with environmentally oriented products and/or practices may be listed. However, since commitment to environmental welfare can be general and unspecific, NEWH has developed a diverse array of measures and means of gauging and conveying environmental responsibility as part of the directory application process.  Additionally, companies are asked to submit up to 200 words stating their corporate environmental initiatives, practices, and ethics.  An organization’s environmental ethics or code of responsibility may be quite distinct from the checklist, yet may have merit of equal weight, which deserves a separate review. 

NEWH SUSTAINABLE HOSPITALITY does not certify “green” standards or claims nor does it perform any environmental audit services.  Each individual application is the responsibility of the participant and is intended to be self-certifying.  In some cases, an interested party may contact an organization directly seeking documentation or verification supplied to the directory.  NEWH SUSTAINABLE HOSPITALITY reserves the right to remove an application based on deliberate falsification of claims.

For just $75 USD, NEWH members can participate in the directory - company name, contact, address, telephone number, website, e-mail address, and fax, environmental checklist, and environmental ethics statement and your company logo.

Non-members are invited to participate for $100.
